Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform regular maintenance and inspections on aircraft, including engines, wings, propellers, tails, and other structural components.
- Ensure all mechanical systems are in proper working condition before flight.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, inspections, and parts replacements.
- Conduct visual and mechanical inspections to identify cracks, corrosion, wear, or other defects.
- Inspect and service hoses, joints, and other components, replacing parts as needed.
- Use technical manuals, schematics, and specifications to guide maintenance and repairs.
- Install new or replacement parts in compliance with manufacturer guidelines and FAA standards.
- Conduct sheet metal repairs and ensure structural integrity of aircraft surfaces.
- Test engine and system performance using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues reported by flight crew or identified during inspection.
- Collaborate with airframe and powerplant (A&P) mechanics or other technicians for complex repairs.
- Ensure compliance with all FAA regulations and safety procedures.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A valid clear driver’s license
- Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
- Must be able to pass FAA regulated drug and alcohol test prior to starting
- Capable of reading and interpreting drawings
- Perform work within estimated hours
- General Aviation experience
- Work as a team of Maine Aero employees
- General Aviation experience a plus
- PT-6 Engines and Beech King Air 200/350 experience a plus. Hourly rate depending on experience and can be evaluated in person.

Job Summary
Maine Aero Services is always seeking qualified Avionics Technician installer to become part of our growing team. Our Part 145 Repair Station which is located at the Bangor International Airport in Bangor, ME. Successful candidates will be performing General Aviation maintenance, repair and avionics related projects. Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in General Aviation Avionics and possess excellent troubleshooting skills in a variety of GA aircrafts.
Responsibilities and Duties
- New Avionics installations – specifically Garmin related modules. Perform avionics maintenance functions such as component removal/installation, wire harness removal/installation, fabrication/repair of wire assemblies, and continuity checks.
- Troubleshoot and repair avionics and electrical systems using current applicable data.
- Read and interpret avionics schematics and drawings necessary to complete avionics related maintenance tasks.
- Ensure aircraft are properly configured and protected prior to performing any power on related task.
- Fabricate and install all wiring assemblies and associated avionics equipment.
- Follow all applicable instructions for continued airworthiness to accomplish a specific task.
- Perform work within estimated hours.
- Execute required paperwork in connection with assigned normal duties.
- Work with our team of A&P technicians
- Pitot/static experience preferred
- Airframe and Power Plant certificate a plus
- Interface effectively with members of management, other departments, and co-workers
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A valid clear driver’s license
- Excellent computer skills are also required
- Working knowledge of Avionics systems and their operation and the proven ability to troubleshoot basic problems
- Must be able to pass a FAA regulated drug and alcohol test prior to starting
- Three plus years of related work experience working on aircraft avionics systems for a Part 121, 135 or 145 organization
